Throughout much of the 20th century, Methodist resources that included The Apostles' Creed left out the line "he descended into hell," which prompted some to question, "Did John Wesley have it removed?" We'll get to that question on Sunday, but also this: Can we find some solace in the thought that Jesus descended to the depths of human despair and darkness to set captives freed?
